The Mercury Racing© OptiMax 250XS combines everything Mercury has learned about power, speed, and winning during the past 65 years. In fact, it's already a world-record holder, setting the APBA Pro Bass Low Emissions class record of 105.020 mph. The world's fastest low-emissions outboard features the Mercury PCM 038 microprocessor and state-of-the-art SmartCraft Control Area Network (CAN) system. The advanced PCM 038 microprocessor optimizes fuel, spark timing and knock control independently for each cylinder, enhancing engine running quality and performance. The durable Mercury Racing© OptiMax 250XS and 200XS outboards have earned their places in history as being the first high-performance engines from Mercury Racing© to come standard with a two-year limited warranty. An optional one-year Mercury Product Protection Plan is also available. |

High-performance cylinder liners, featuring race-derived transfer and exhaust ports with hand-ground boost ports, increase power and performance. Mercury racing custom-designed pistons and O-Ring cylinder heads, with special combustion chambers. New 1.62:1 gear ratio Sport Master and Torque Master gearcases improve engine performance on lighter weight hulls. |
